West Coast & Le Morne Bay Catamaran Cruise
A full day by catamaran along the west coast: dolphins at first light, anchorage beneath Le Morne and a barbecue on board.
The west coast is better seen from the sea than from the road. We leave Riviere Noire at first light, when the dolphins come up into Tamarin bay — that’s when they’re there, not at ten o’clock.
The boat then runs south along the coast and anchors beneath Le Morne mountain, the UNESCO-listed rock that drops straight into the lagoon. You swim, you snorkel over the reef, and the barbecue is prepared on board meanwhile.
The return is under sail with the afternoon breeze. It’s one of the few outings where you see three very different things in a single day. From the north, allow an hour to reach the harbour — I can arrange the transfer.
