Hibiscus Boutique Hotel

The Hibiscus is tucked under century-old banyan trees, above the Pereybere lagoon. This is my village, I drive past it regularly. The hotel has kept a human scale: handcrafted furniture, restful rooms, no attempt to impress.

A pool with jacuzzi, non-motorised water sports included, and Pereybere beach a few minutes’ walk away. It’s one of the few public beaches in the north where you can eat well for very little.

I recommend it to couples and travellers who want to be in the north without the bustle of Grand Baie. Grand Baie is still ten minutes away, whenever you feel like going out.
