Grand Baie is the liveliest village in the north: the shops, restaurants, bars, dive centres and the departure point for most boat trips are packed into a few hundred metres.
The bay itself is sheltered and shallow. It is not the north’s finest beach, but it is the most practical spot on the island: you can spend a week here without ever taking the car. For the beach, Mont Choisy and Pereybere are five minutes away.
I live ten minutes from here. If you are staying in Grand Baie I can come and meet you, and all my excursions pick you up at your hotel.
