Undersea Walk — Grand Baie
Put on an air-fed helmet and walk along the seabed of Grand Baie lagoon, 3–5 metres down, with no need to know how to swim.
The undersea walk is the activity I recommend to everyone who wants to discover the underwater world without going through a scuba diving course. You put on a transparent helmet — heavy in the air, perfectly comfortable in the water — and walk down to the floor of the Grand Baie lagoon, three to five metres below the surface.
Down there, the fish come right to you. The team provides food to attract them: parrotfish, damsels, surgeonfish — a colourful display just in front of your eyes. No swimming ability needed, no tank on your back. The helmet feeds air directly to you, breathing is completely normal.
I keep groups small (maximum 10 people) so everyone gets proper time down there. Great for families with children aged 8 and over. I arrange the transfer from your hotel in Grand Baie or Pereybère.
