Pointe aux Piments is a stretch of coast between Trou aux Biches and Balaclava, quieter than its neighbours. The lagoon is shallow, with a few passes where you can snorkel.
The Mauritius aquarium is here and, a little further south, the Balaclava ruins. The village itself stays calm: a few shops along the coast road, no nightlife.
The hotels sit on the shore, often with more grounds than in Grand Baie. It is the choice for those who want the north without the noise. Grand Baie is twenty minutes away, Port Louis twenty-five.
