Belle Mare is the great beach of the east coast: white sand for several kilometres, a wide lagoon, and a particular morning light since the sun rises over the sea here.
The wind is stronger than in the north, which makes hot days more bearable and draws windsurfers.
This is a coast of hotels rather than villages: you come here to stay put. Ile aux Cerfs is about twenty minutes away.
