Snorkelling Coin de Mire & Flat Island
A half-day boat trip from Cap Malheureux to explore the reefs around Coin de Mire and Flat Island, two of the finest snorkelling spots in northern Mauritius.
Coin de Mire is that dramatic volcanic rock you can see from Grand Baie — and below the surface it’s even more impressive. I take you out by boat from Cap Malheureux, just ten minutes away. The coral is pristine, the fish plentiful, and visibility rarely drops below ten metres.
Second stop: Flat Island, a protected nature reserve. The lagoon there is unusually calm, perfect for spotting sea turtles and parrotfish in peace. Mask and snorkel provided, and the crew stays on board to keep an eye on everyone.
This is an ideal trip for families and snorkelling beginners: calm water, shallow beds, no exceptional swimming ability required. I take care of the booking and the transfer from your accommodation in the north.
