Cap Malheureux

Currently: 2 hotels and 3 excursions

Cap Malheureux is the northern tip of the island. People come for the small red-roofed church facing the lagoon, with Coin de Mire behind it: it is the photo almost everyone brings home from Mauritius.

It is also the shortest departure point for the northern islets, Coin de Mire, Flat Island and Ilot Gabriel. The village stays very quiet: a few hotels, a restaurant or two, and that is it.

If you want the north without the bustle of Grand Baie, this is it. Grand Baie is still ten minutes away when you feel like going out.
