Trou d’Eau Douce is a fishing village on the east coast and the embarkation point for Ile aux Cerfs. It has kept its scale: low houses, a few tables facing the lagoon, boats moored in front.
The lagoon is wide and breezy. The hotels here sit on it, set back from the village.
Staying here means being five minutes from the Ile aux Cerfs departure rather than an hour’s drive. For anyone coming mainly for that, it is the right call.
